to come and meet us and see our premises first!Run by Brigitte Taylor, who is a qualified dog & cat groomer, with over 30 years experience of owning dogs, cats and other small animals, she gave up a highly paid and pressurised City job to devote herself to her true love – dogs and their welfare. Fourpawz was established in June 2006 and has quickly become a well-established and respected second home to many boarding clients, with dog grooming clients also enjoying the calm and loving home environment.
Brigitte is Police checked, fully insured and licensed by the London Borough of Croydon for boarding overnight up to 4 dogs – all in her own home (no kennels).
Krzysia joined Fourpawz in February 2007 to assist mainly with grooming but she is also one of our Homesitters. She is very kind to all the animals and has a particularly lovely way with cats – very useful when grooming them!
The resident dog is Rosie, a rescue Golden Retriever, who has lived with Brigitte since she was 11 months old. Rosie is a well-trained, friendly, spayed bitch who has qualified as a Pets As Therapy (PAT) Dog. She has starred in photo-shoots and dog training DVDs. She is ready to welcome all well-behaved dogs, large or small, young or old, to her home for good times and plenty of love and cuddles.
All dogs are chauffeur driven daily, in a secure vehicle, to local beauty spots such as Kenley Common, Coulsdon Common, Riddlesdown Common, Banstead Woods, Farthing Downs or Headley Heath to enjoy a minimum of 1-hour exercise – usually off lead. In the summer they might be taken to the coast for the day for a play on the beach and paddle/swim in the sea! Older dogs or young puppies exercise is tailored to suit.
Dogs have the run of Brigitte’s secure, fully fenced garden which is laid mainly to lawn with a patio area (and paddling pool on warm days!) There is also a fenced, covered area and outdoor run for play on wet days! Dogs sleep indoors in locations to mirror their own lifestyles as far as possible.
Fourpawz is run from a detached house in a leafy suburb 8 miles south of Croydon and just 10 minutes away from the M25 junction at Godstone.
